Ted is an ex-insurance investigator who was able to get his son life-saving medical treatment because his first, original Crime Pal Beard was like ‘Ted if your company doesn’t come through with the coverage, we’re doing things my way.��

The company did not come through. The company did let him go due to suspicion of Ted’s involvement in the incident, but Ted will happily remind folks that no charges were formally pressed. Henry is alive and healthy and living with Michelle, who divorced Ted shortly thereafter (not just because of pre-existing marital problems, but because Ted wouldn’t tell her anything about why the doctors “””suddenly decided to do the procedure for free”””). Shortly thereafter, Ted fled the country.

What Ted learned from the whole experience is that there’s a lot of people out there, good people just trying to live by the rules, but sometimes things happen that are just out of their control. And well- if we’ve got the means to help the good people out when no one else will, then shouldn’t we try?

“We’ve got means,” Beard agrees. “And motives.”

Btw, looks like he is taking this issue once again to court. I hope he won't settle for an agreement this time. It's clear that certain people need to feel the full force of the law or they'll never stop their slander campaign.

Watching the Obito Reveal in naruto and while I still want to punch this guy in the face, I'm rly enjoying seeing how emotional Kakashi is getting AND how supportive Guy is being to him. Like Fuck You, obito, guy is here and he's better than you in every fucking way. Up to and including giving kakashi the support he deserves ❤️

Beckett really is the only reason Evie turned out okay in the end. After Venture Tower, her humanity was in tatters, and her whole world view was just falling apart. She'd have ended up going down a very dark path if not for him taking her in. She was hunted, faced with horrors, purposefully sent on suicide missions, and killed a lot of people. All it would have taken was one more bad experience, one more abuser, one more instance of manipulation and she would have broken beyond repair.

But Beckett found her, and he showed her the kindness and patience she needed. He taught her how to be the kind of vampire she can deal with being, and he let's her get away with being a brat because no one else has let her be a kid since she was embraced, and she needs the chance to find ways to enjoy what she is. She's not human anymore, so she needs to learn that there is room for joy in what she is - Ming Xiao and Lacroix are a prime example of what will happen if she's allowed to go down destructive paths of hatred. She will kill whoever gets in her way and burn it all down if it means getting her satisfaction, and she's proven that she's more than capable of doing exactly that.

So he teaches her, takes her on adventures, introduces her to his friends, encourages her to embrace life and to keep seeking knowledge because they're vital to her developing into a well-rounded Kindred who doesn't go burning down buildings on a routine basis. Is she perfect? Of course not. He could live without hallucinating Baby Shark while he's meant to be talking to someone he's meant to be taking Very Seriously thank you, but at least he can laugh about it later. It'd be a lot harder to laugh at her getting executed or burning it all down.

At the end of the night, he took her in and it saved her. She got to figure out this unlife thing and to find joy in what she is, and now she's living her best life as an apprentice scholar, trickster god, and professional soundboard.
